Phi Kappa Phi Doctoral Candidates

Each year the USC Chapter of the Phi Kappa Phi honors society recognizes outstanding academic accomplishment by offering initiation to a select group of graduating seniors, masters and doctoral students. Undergraduates and masters students are offered initiation on the basis of their GPA; doctoral candidates must be nominated by their academic units.

Phi Kappa Phi, the oldest interdisciplinary university honor society at USC, seeks to recognize academic excellence at the doctoral level.  We extend an invitation to nominate premier doctoral students in your academic discipline for this recognition. Should you wish to nominate a candidate or candidates, they must have the following qualifications:

•  A letter of nomination from the chair of the department, graduate advisor of the program, or chair of the dissertation committee stating that the student ranks in the top five percent of the students with whom they have worked.
•  Student must have passed the qualifying examination

Phi Kappa Phi will invite those students who have been nominated to the initiation ceremony and to the reception immediately following the ceremony in Queen’s Court (area outside Bing Theatre).

Nominations should be submitted by 12 p.m. on Friday, April 5th, 2013,  to Linda Bazilian who will forward to Dr. Fliegel by the 4 PM deadline. For each nominee, please include the completed nomination form and letter of nomination.

Please note that undergraduate students and masters students are automatically nominated for membership based on a qualifying grade point average.

If you have any questions, please call Dr. Fliegel at 213-740-2961.

Thank you very much for helping us recognize our most accomplished students.
