New electronic access for library materials

This first part is newly acquired journal content in subjects of interest to Biological Sciences. In many cases we only had access to part of the run but we now have all years. For the second part (after the line across) they are reference materials or books.

Call for Presenters - USC Spring 2013 Scholars Research Symposium (Monday, April 15th at the Davidson Conference Center)

The USC Graduate School, Diversity Outreach and Academic Professional Development is pleased to announce an Scholars’ Research Symposium! The event will take place all day (meals provided) on Monday, April 15th. This will be a great way to share your research and get feedback on your work while being amongst your peers in a welcoming and supportive environment. Presenters will also be eligible for up to $500 to be used for conference travel and/or expenses related to their research. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, April 9th at 9 AM.

Information & Eligibility

• Acquire an award up to $500: Receive a stipend if your funding package permits this; or, get reimbursed on conference or other research-related expenses not previously covered over the past two academic years (original receipts).

• Availability on Monday, April 15, 2013, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (all day, meals provided). Please be available for a reasonable time after your own session.

• All USC doctoral students are eligible! Priority is APD and EDGE Participants.
How to Apply

1) Visit
https://grad-6.usc.edu/EDGE/edgeTravel.aspx. Complete online form and upload project title and abstract. Enter N/A for “description of meeting” or use this box as extra space for abstract. Abstract will be published as uploaded in the symposium program.

2) Due date for online application: Tuesday, April 9, 2013 by 9 a.m. Acceptance notices will go out April 11, 2013. Early submissions are encouraged (express interest immediately).

3) Request a statement of support from faculty advisor and a brief (1-2 sentence) endorsement from department chair. Send to
graduate.diversity@usc.edu.

Final Fellowship Information Sessions of the Spring Semester

We will be holding our final fellowship information sessions of the semester in the next couple of weeks. Please forward the following information to your students. Since many of these fellowships have early fall deadlines, we highly encourage students to attend the sessions. Many of these fellowships require students to apply a year before they intend to use the fellowship.

The sessions will be held on the following days and times:

A current USC graduate student and Fulbright alum will speak about her experience as a Fulbright ETA.
